About us
Our Goal: To foster a sense of community, unity, and civic pride by volunteering together to improve city parks and neighborhoods.
FOSPA is a volunteer-led non-profit organization that supports the development and maintenance of parks and open green spaces in the City of Seaside, California. Volunteers create habitat for native plants, trees, pollinators, and wildlife, and foster a sense of community and civic pride in the cleanliness, safety, health and beauty of the city parks & neighborhoods.
Join us! Saturdays, 10am to 12pm A different park each week Calendar below! C U there!
November 9th is a dedicated Martin Park day! This is our newest park, and all year it's shared the spotlight with Highland Otis park, but on November 9th--all our love is going to this cute park! Come lend a hand! (Previously Nov.9 had been Lincoln Cunningham, now updated on calendar)
The Joy of Giving Back
What can you expect at a FOSPA park workday?
Feel Good, Do Good
Weeding, mulching, planting, picking up trash, or helping in any way you are comfortable. Activities can be lightweight or a healthy workout, as you see fit. Bring the kiddos & doggies!
From invasive to native
Planting drought resistant & native plants; pulling invasives, getting dirty, having fun; creating green spaces, pollinator gardens, and sweet playgrounds for generations to come
Sign In, Sign Off, Have Fun
Volunteers sign in with a park leader each week & get the skinny. First-time volunteers will be asked to sign a liability waiver, then it's GO TIME.
We Supply-You Supply
We supply: the rakes, wheelburrows, pitchforks, mulch, plants, water & the weekly reminder emails. You supply: garden gloves, clothes you can get dirty, study shoes, and anything needed for personal comfort and safety + respect, kind hearts, & helping hands.
